Kia Flips Over Pickup’s Runaway Tire on L.A. Freeway

LOS ANGELES — A Kia Soul flipped into the air on a Los Angeles freeway last week, after it was hit by a runaway tire from a white pickup truck in the neighboring lane. The dramatic crash, closely resembling an action movie stunt, occurred on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway near De Soto Avenue on Thursday, March 23, 2023. 

Remarkably, the Kia’s driver suffered only minor injuries, as the California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated to KABC-TV. CHP also told the media outlet that the pickup truck’s front left tire appeared to have come loose due to sheared-off lug nuts. There were no major injuries as a result of the incident, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
