2 Die in T-bone Crash Near Leavenworth

Two people were killed in a t-bone crash on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at approximately 8:40a.m. in Tumwater Canyon, less than a mile west of Leavenworth, Washington. To facilitate the investigation, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews closed US 2 between Mileposts 85-99 from Coles Corner to West of Leavenworth.

Bellingham Public Schools Fail to Report Alleged Sexual Abuse

A 16-year-old girl has filed a lawsuit against Bellingham Public Schools, in response to their failure to report her alleged sexual abuse at the hands of another student. The assaults reportedly began in October, 2021. On January 14, 2022, the girl reported the assaults to the Dean of Students at Squalicum High School in Bellingham, Washington. According to the victim, the dean’s response was, "What do you want me to do about it?" The victim subsequently contacted two additional school administrators to report the sexual violence being perpetrated against her. Court documents indicate that none of the administrators reported the abuse to police; they are required to by law.

Kent Woman killed in auto-pedestrian crash January 8, 2023

Puget Sound Fire responded to a call regarding a woman who was fatally hit by two vehicles on the 132nd block in Kent, Washington while crossing the street. Both drivers of the vehicles are cooperating with Kent police. Traffic was rerouted for several hours while police investigated this ongoing situation. A full investigation will be necessary to determine fault.
