Jesenia Martinez joined Carpenter & Zuckerman in 2021 as a trial lawyer when the firm acquired Kristensen LLP. The bilingual daughter of Guatemalan immigrants, Jesenia was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University in Massachusetts, with majors in history and Spanish. After graduation, Jesenia returned to Los Angeles to attend Southwestern Law School's prestigious 2-year Juris Doctorate SCALE Program.
While attending Southwestern Law School, Jesenia served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, as well as for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Jesenia was a proud participant of the American Bar Association’s Judicial Clerkship Program, and was selected as an Honorable Mention Oralist at the Intramural Moot Court Competition. In addition, Jesenia was a member of the Southwestern Law Review.
