Planning to celebrate? Here’s some tips on how to support the Hispanic/Latinx community:

Learn why Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated.

This TEDx Talk provides insight into what it means to be Hispanic and Latinx, while also asking us to dig deeper into the common stereotypes and assumptions that many in this community face.

Donate to Latinx or Hispanic nonprofits and community organizations

Organizations like RAICES  — a Texas-based organization that provides free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees — are at the forefront of the immigration crisis and actively working toward short and long-term solutions.

Attend an event.

Across the many major cities and local communities, between September 15 to October 15th officials work hard to put on celebratory events to celebrate Hispanic and Latin culture. Events can include traditional dances, live music, art displays, and food stalls. Support your local community by showing up and taking part in any event happening in your area.

Support Latinx and Hispanic businesses.

Get your holiday shopping done early and help celebrate the culture and hard work of Hispanic and Latinx makers by supporting their businesses at NOVICA online marketplace.

Share with us your way to support the Hispanic community in this month's celebration. We have a lot to be thankful for.
