Violent Orange County Road Rage Suspect Arrested
The male suspect of a violent road rage incident that occurred in Orange on Tuesday afternoon was arrested in Garden Grove on Wednesday, according to the Orange Police Department. The victim, identified as John, said the suspect punched and kicked his car, and also attempted to rip the driver’s side mirror off, which resulted in the suspect’s blood splattering on the vehicle. Police used the blood to positively identify the suspect, tracing his whereabouts to an address in south Orange County through vehicle registration records.
John’s dash camera captured the road rage incident on video, which he says resulted in nearly $4,000 in damage to his vehicle. John is uncertain what may have triggered the suspect’s behavior, and he advised others to avoid confrontations during road rage incidents. John’s insurance company is working to determine whether the suspect’s vehicle was insured. They informed John that the matter may be treated as a civil issue.
A separate video circulating on social media appears to show the same suspect assaulting another driver in a road rage incident in Santa Ana. In that video, the suspect can be seen exiting a similar 1990s Ford Explorer Sport, and re-entering his vehicle with a crowbar after the assault. A Santa Ana Police Department spokesperson said no one had reported that incident as of Wednesday evening.
