Teenage Pedestrian Struck By 2 Vehicles, Dies in Kent, WA
Simran Gaut, a 17-year-old female pedestrian, died from multiple blunt force injuries in the early morning hours of January 8, 2023, after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross 132nd Avenue Southeast on the East Hill in Kent, Washington.
While responding to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision near the 23300 block of 132nd Avenue SE at approximately 5:45a.m. on January 8, Kent Police officers found Gaut unresponsive in the roadway.
According to police, Gaut may have been attempting to cross the road when she was hit by a vehicle traveling south. The impact is believed to have caused Gaut to enter the northbound lane, where she was struck by a second vehicle traveling north.
The two drivers stopped immediately and have been cooperative with police and the investigation. According to police, there are no indications that speed was a factor or that either driver was impaired. Gaut was pronounced dead at the scene. For more information on this story, view the recent.
