  • Fernandez v. Jimenez (2019, 40 Cal.App.5th 482) – affirming a total of $45 million in non-economic damages for four heirs in a wrongful death action.
  • Costa v. County of Ventura (2017, 9th Cir., 680 F.App’x 545) – reversing the grant of summary judgment in a civil rights action against the police for the shooting and killing of a homeless man.  
  • Luna v. Monterey Park Petroleum, Inc. (Mar. 26, 2019, H042290) – reversing the grant of summary judgment in a slip-and-fall action against a gas station.

Education

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, reflecting his academic excellence. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California in 1976.

Gary has been admitted to the California State Bar and is authorized to practice in the highest courts in the land, including the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
